Chaplain Griffith has served as a minister in the PCA for 34 years. He has pastored numerous churches, has been the Ministry Director of Ridge Haven Conference Center, and has served as a chaplain in the military since 1983 in a variety of capacities. He was also the Director of Family Ministry for the United States Army Reserve. At his retirement ceremony he was awarded the Legion of Merit for his service to Soldiers and Families. Chaplain Griffith retired from the Army in November 2011. He currently serves as the Associate Director of the Presbyterian Reformed Chaplain Commission.
Doug Lee, Chaplain (Brig Gen) USAR (Ret), comments on this appointment: “I am delighted RTS-Charlotte has hired retired Army Chaplain (Colonel) Mack Griffith as the Director of the Chaplain Ministry Institute. As the only Reformed seminary with such an emphasis, RTS has enhanced the development of chaplains across the military and civilian spectrum. Chaplain Griffith will add tremendous wisdom due to his many years as a pastor and chaplain in the Army National Guard, Army Reserve and Active Duty Army.”
